Cool, dry into next week

A line of soaking rain showers moved through Southern New England from late Friday night through mid-morning on Saturday. Many places picked up between 0.5-0.75″ of rain. Clouds cleared fairly quickly early Saturday afternoon, and the high temperature was near 60. It will stay clear Saturday night with the temperature dropping into the low to mid 30s. Any young, tender vegetation should be brought in or covered in the countryside because of the chilly overnight temps.

There will be mostly sunny skies on Sunday. It will be a bit cool for late-April, with highs only in the low to mid 50s. Sunday night also looks chilly, with lows ranging from the upper 20s to mid 30s under clear skies.

It will stay dry through Monday, but clouds will increase. Once again, it will be rather cool, with highs only in the low 50s. An easterly breeze combined with the clouds will make it feel even cooler. It now appears that a storm off the Atlantic Seaboard will mainly miss Southern New England as it moves north on Tuesday. It will be a cloudy, cool day, with the chance of a few showers – especially in Eastern MA. The temperature will struggle to reach 50.

Wednesday will be decent, with some sun and highs in the upper 50s to low 60s. A cold front will move through Wednesday night or Thursday bringing a line of rain showers.
