Long Range Forecast – June 6

Tropical Storm Andrea should be a prolific and beneficial rainmaker on the trip up the Eastern Seaboard over the next couple of days. The rainfall deficit in Southern New England has been dented in the past few weeks, and Andrea should help to get the Providence area to within about 85% of the normal rainfall for the year. There is also more rain in the forecast for next week as a slow-moving system threatens SNE with rain in the midweek. The European model has another rainmaker over the Father’s Day weekend. Other models are not as gung-ho on the wet pattern at the end of next week. In any event, don’t get too excited about any stretches of great weather in Southern New England over the next couple of weeks. As explained in the video, there will be some decent days here and there, but also some stretches of wet weather. Overall, it looks like a cooler and wetter than normal pattern through the middle of June.
