The National Weather Service has posted Flood Watches for most of Southern New England ahead of anticipated heavy rain Friday into Saturday morning. The rain will be bolstered by Tropical Storm Andrea as it moves up the Eastern Seaboard Friday night. Occasional rain is likely Friday as Andrea gradually transitions from a tropical to extratropical system. The heaviest rain may arrive Friday night as the center of the storm passes right over or just east of Southern New England. 2-3″ of rain is expected, with the potential for some 4″ amounts. The biggest threat is for urban and poor drainage flooding. See below for the initial update from the National Weather Service. Click the links for the latest advisories.
