100 degree heat possible in SNE Friday

The latest high-resolution short range computer models are showing the potential for 100° heat in part of Southern New England on Friday. The day started with temperatures in the mid 70s to low 80s, and the warmest air of the hot stretch is expected to be overhead in the afternoon. A gusty southwest wind will cool the coast a bit, but some spots in interior RI, interior CT, and interior E MA may see triple digit heat. The humidity will be high, and the heat index will be between 105-109° for any place that hits 100°. Images from weatherbell.com – click to enlarge.
