Southern New England will get a brief respite from the high humidity through midday Saturday. It will also be a bit cooler than normal on Friday. As you might expect in mid-summer, the break will not last for very long. Hot weather will be moving from the Plains to the Eastern United States by late in the weekend and early next week. While it’s no lock, there is a reasonable chance that inland Southern New England could experience another 3-5 day heat wave next week. Late in the week a cold front moves through that will bring drier, cooler air.
