Friday and weekend forecast takes a turn for the worse

A storm forming along a stalled front is likely to lead to rain on Friday, and the threat of showers for part of the weekend in Southern New England. Earlier in the week it appeared the front would get far enough offshore to allow for drier, pleasant weather to arrive Friday afternoon and last through the weekend. The latest American, Canadian, European, and Japanese computer models all agree on showers Friday. In a worst-case scenario, widespread clouds and light showers linger on Saturday, with some sunshine and the chance of a passing shower on Sunday.

GFS Ensemble forecast shows the stalled front along the Eastern Seaboard in nearly all members.
