Providence and Worcester break records on Thursday

Providence, RI and Worcester, MA both set temperature records on Thursday, July 18, 2013. The records were not for the high maximum temperature, but, rather, the high minimum temperature. The low temperature in Providence was 77°. That is the warmest low temperature for the date, with records dating back to 1905. The previous record was 75° set in 1982. In Worcester, the low temperature was 74°, breaking the record of 73° set in 2006. Records in Worcester date back to the 1892, with records being kept at the Worcester Airport since 1948.
