Storms cause some damage/flooding in SNE

A line of thunderstorms that moved through Southern New England Saturday afternoon July 20, 2013 caused damage in some spots. There were reports of flooding, hail, and wind damage. Lightning caused several house fires, primarily in Northern RI and Bristol County, MA. Here are some storm damage reports aggregated by the National Weather Service Taunton Skywarn.

300 PM: Pomfret, CT: Pea to Dime Sized Hail
324 PM: Killingly, CT: Tree and Wires Down on the Putnam Pike in the Attawaagan section. Tree and Wires down on Lake Road
330 PM: Brooklyn, CT: Wires Down On South Street
331 PM: Reading, MA: Tree into a house on Summer Avenue due to lightning
344 PM: North Attleboro, MA: House hit by lightning on South Washington Street – smoke in the building
347 PM: Cumberland, RI: House hit by lightning – smoke in the building on Howard Avenue
340 PM: South Killingly, CT: Trees and Wires Down on Mashentuck Road
345 PM: Sharon, MA: House Fire Due to lightning on Tracey Lane
352 PM: Mansfield, MA: House Fire Due to lightning on Morrow Street
355 PM: Lincoln RI: Rte 146 at Twin River Road – 18″ of street flooding
355 PM: Randolph, MA: Shed Fire Due to Lightning on Bonney Lane
355 PM: North Attleboro, MA: House struck by lightning with damage on Elmwood Street
415 PM: Providence, RI: House fire due to lightning on Butler Avenue
433 PM: Pembroke, MA: House struck by lightning on Pembroke Wood Drive – smoke/burning smell in the building – evaluating for damage
