Muggy air returns, will stick around this weekend

There are many uncertainties about the Labor Day weekend weather in Southern New England, but one thing is for sure, it will feature summer-like humidity, with dew points in the mid to upper 60s all weekend long. The dew point began climbing into the mid 60s on Friday as the wind swung around to the southwest. While it was not particularly warm at midday on Friday, the muggy feel had returned, with dew points as high as 68° reported in coastal Southern New England.

The wind direction through the Labor Day weekend will be out of the south-southwest all weekend. The gusty breeze will keep the humid air in place over Southern New England. Drier weather should arrive by the middle of next week.
