Spotty showers possible Friday afternoon

A cold front will pass through Southern New England early Friday, and isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible Friday afternoon and early evening. The showers/storms may develop as cooler air moves in behind the front, and an upper-air disturbance rotates through Southern New England.

While rain is not imminent, it’s a situation where it cannot be ruled out. In a best-case scenario, the disturbance will be either be too weak to generate showers/storms or it will move through earlier in the day just behind the cold front. In either of those cases, it will be a partly sunny afternoon with highs in the 80s, a northerly breeze, and dropping humidity. The weekend weather looks terrific, with lots of sunshine and low humidity.

A few showers may pop-up Friday afternoon. If they don't develop, it will be quite nice!
