Warmer sunshine on Tuesday

The sunshine on Monday was filtered through mid-level and high clouds in Southern New England. As a result, high temperatures were in the upper 70s to low 80s. Tuesday will be a brighter day, and high temperatures will be about five degrees warmer.

A veil of clouds kept it a bit cooler at the beach on Monday.

Monday night looks partly  cloudy and seasonable, with low in the upper 50s to low 60s. Tuesday will be mostly sunny and warm, but not humid. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s inland, and near 80 at the beach. It will be a better beach day than Monday was.

The weather will stay very warm through the midweek. Muggier air will arrive, but it should not be as oppressively humid as it was in July. Wednesday and Thursday both look mostly sunny with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s inland. The beach will be in the low 80s.

A cold front will move through Thursday night into early Friday. Scattered thunderstorms and showers are possible through early Friday. Drier weather will follow Friday afternoon and stay through the weekend. Highs will be in the low 80s Friday under partly sunny afternoon skies. This weekend looks mostly sunny with highs near 80 and lows in the 50s.
