Locally dense fog is developing Sunday evening in Southern New England. The visibility is dropping below one mile, and may fall below 1/4 mile at times into Monday morning. The thickest fog is likely away from the coast. The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory until 11 am Monday.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A DENSE FOG
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM EDT MONDAY.

* LOCATION...NORTHERN CONNECTICUT...SOUTHWESTERN NEW HAMPSHIRE...
  NORTHWESTERN RHODE ISLAND...AND CENTRAL AND WESTERN
  MASSACHUSETTS.

* VISIBILITIES...ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.

* TIMING...FOG HAS ALREADY DEVELOPED IN MANY LOCATIONS AND SHOULD
  BECOME MORE DENSE AS THE NIGHT GOES ON.  

* IMPACTS...AREAS OF DENSE FOG WILL PRODUCE HAZARDOUS DRIVING
  CONDITIONS DURING THE OVERNIGHT AND MORNING HOURS. THE FOG IS
  EXPECTED TO BEGIN TO LIFT AND DISSIPATE AROUND 10 AM.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A DENSE FOG ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN DENSE FOG WILL REDUCE
VISIBILITIES TO ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS FOR AT LEAST 3 HOURS...
RESULTING IN HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS.  MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED
TO SLOW DOWN AS OBJECTS ON AND NEAR ROADWAYS WILL BE SEEN ONLY AT
CLOSE RANGE.
