A glance at the week ahead

The temperature everyday so far this month has been at or above normal in Providence. The streak is likely to continue for a few days as we head into the upcoming week. Columbus Day will be partly cloudy and seasonably cool, with highs in the low 60s. Monday night will be partly cloudy with lows in the mid to upper 40s.

Warmer weather arrives on Tuesday. It will be partly sunny with highs inland in the mid to upper 60s. Highs near the coast will be in the low 60s. Some unsettled weather is in the forecast for the middle of the week. A system approaching from the west will combine with a disturbance off the coast to bring the threat of showers Wednesday into Thursday. At this point, it looks like the best bet for rain is from Wednesday afternoon until early Thursday morning. Highs will be in the low 60s on Wednesday.

Showers should end by midday Thursday, and there may be some mild afternoon sunshine. Highs will be in the 60s again. Another area of showers may move quickly from the Mid-Atlantic to New England Thursday night. Friday will be partly cloudy with highs in the 60s.

Looking ahead to next weekend, dry weather is in the forecast for Saturday. Showers are possible on Sunday.
