Long Range Forecast – December 13

Winter is off to a flying start in most of the country. There is a wintry storm in the forecast for this weekend, and the month is averaging more than 2° colder than normal in the Providence area. By the end of the weekend the average will be closer to 3° below normal to go along with several inches of snow so far this season.

It will be very cold to start the week, and a minor snow event is possible Tuesday. After that, the cold pattern will ease temporarily late in the week, with some rain possible next weekend. Looking ahead to the Christmas week…the cold tries to return, and there may be a stationary front offshore that allows for some snow to arrive in Southern New England sometime around Christmas. Check the video for details.
