Long Range Forecast – December 30

It looks like the first couple of weeks of 2014 will feature some very dynamic weather in the Eastern United States. New England will get a taste of it with a snow storm Thursday into Friday, followed by a brutally cold weather Friday into Saturday. The temperature may fall below zero in the wake of the storm Saturday morning.

The computer models bring the next storm early next week to the west of Southern New England. We’re not convinced that it will be as far west as the models are currently projecting. While it may not be another snow storm, we think there will be a wintry element to it at the beginning before transitioning to rain.

The cold weather that follows that storm may be as cold as what hits Saturday. The overall pattern looks very chilly, with the chance of snow late next week. If everything comes together just right, this will be a January to remember for winter lovers.
