A weak system brought a burst of snow to New England on Thursday, December 26, 2013. There were brief snow showers in the morning that coated the ground in parts of RI and E MA. Most of the accumulating snow occurred during the mid-afternoon as a disturbance swept through from the west. The temperature near the coast was above freezing by that point in the day and the precipitation was mainly rain south of Providence in RI and SE MA. The following are snowfall observations sent in to the National Weather Service in Taunton, MA.
