The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for part of Southern New England in advance of the moderate to heavy winter storm that is expected to hit Saturday into Sunday. The storm should spread snow from west to east through Southern New England through Saturday afternoon. The height of the storm is likely Saturday night, but at the same time milder air may move into coast changing the snow to rain for some. Inland Southern New England is under the Winter Storm Warning, with a Winter Storm Watch in effect for parts of RI and SE MA. The Winter Storm Warning is for the likelihood of at least 6″ of snow. A Winter Storm Watch means 6″ of snow is possible.
