The snowy December in Southern New England continues on Tuesday as another system develops south of Long Island and moves into the Gulf of Maine. The developing storm will feed off of cold air in New England, and snow will blossom during the day from west to east. The snow should begin in the mid-morning in RI, and late-morning in SE MA. The steadiest snow is likely in the afternoon before it tapers off early in the evening. Accumulations are likely and the National Weather Service in Taunton, MA has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for most of Southern New England.
