NOAA 2013 State of the Climate: A relatively quiet year
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released the 2013 State of the Climate report via the National Climatic Data Center. 2013 will be remembered as warm and dry in the West, cool and wet in the Midwest, Great Lakes, and Southeast, and warm and wet in the Northeast. It was also relatively benign in terms of extreme weather. The hurricane season was very quiet, and there may have been the fewest tornadoes since 1989.
