Long Range Forecast – February 27

Will this winter ever end? It’s beginning to feel like the answer may be no, and the weather pattern over the next two weeks does nothing to dispel that notion. Cold air will continue pouring into the Upper Midwest and Northeast. As bad as our winter has been, it has been a lot worse in states like Minnesota and Wisconsin. Some cities are breaking records for the most sub-zero days in one winter.

The story around here next week will be temperatures that are about 15° colder than normal following whatever snow we get on Monday. The cold shot will last through the workweek, and we think the pattern could get active again in the second week of March. Of course, with a decent supply of cold air, that could mean more wintry weather or at least mixed precipitation events. Overall, the temperature will be well below normal for the first half of March, and as you’ll see from the video, there may not be much hope for spring anytime soon.
