Sunny and Mild on Sunday

The second half of the weekend will feature mostly sunny skies in Southern New England. The low temperature Sunday morning will be in the upper 20s to low 30s. It will warm into the low 50s by noon, and highs will be in the mid to upper 50s in the afternoon, with a late day sea breeze cooling the coast. Unlike Saturday, when clouds were stubborn, it will be a mostly sunny day.

The weather will stay quiet into the workweek. Lows will be in the low to mid 30s Sunday night under clear skies. Clouds will increase after a sunny start on Monday. Highs will be in the mid 50s. The wind will swing around to the east-southeast by late in the day.

Rain is likely Monday night as a vigorous system moves through the Northeast. The rain may be heavy at times in Southern New England after midnight. Embedded thunderstorms are possible. It will be windy near the coast, with gusts over 30 mph. The temperature will stay in the 40s to low 50s overnight. Rain will end from west to east during the morning commute on Tuesday. After a soggy start, there should be some sunshine on Tuesday afternoon. It will be relatively mild with highs in the mid to upper 50s near the coast, and low to mid 60s inland.

The weather looks nice in the middle of next week. Wednesday will be cooler, with highs in the 50s. Thursday may reach 60, and it could be in the 60s on Friday before showers arrive in the afternoon and/or evening.
