Mild Saturday Afternoon; Pleasant Sunday

Heavy showers rolled through Southern New England early Saturday. They moved offshore by mid-morning, and drier weather is ahead for the rest of the weekend. Saturday afternoon will be partly sunny and warm, with highs near 70 at the coast, and in the mid 70s inland. It will be mainly clear and comfortable Saturday night. Lows will be in the upper 40s to low 50s.

Overall, the forecast is improving for late in the weekend and early next week. An offshore storm should be far enough away that the shower threat is minimized in Southern New England. Sunday will be partly to mostly sunny, with highs near 70. Skies will become mainly clear Sunday night. Lows will be in the mid to upper 40s – a bit cool for mid-May.

The weather looks quiet early next week. Monday and Tuesday will be partly cloudy with highs in the mid to upper 60s. A stray afternoon shower is possible, especially in Eastern Massachusetts. Lows will be in the upper 40s to low 50s.

A system moving in from the west will bring increasing clouds with the chance of showers by Wednesday afternoon. It will be cooler with highs in the mid 60s. Showers are possible Thursday and Friday as the system slowly moves by, but it does not look like a total washout.
