Scattered Showers on Tuesday

Monday was not as nice as the weekend was, but it was not a bad day to be outside, either. Highs were in the mid 70s with mostly cloudy skies. Showers were spotty until late in the afternoon when steadier rain reached South County. Monday night will be cloudy and damp, with a few passing showers and possible mist and fog. Lows will be in the low 60s.

Tuesday looks mostly cloudy with scattered showers and the chance of a thunderstorm. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s. The shower/storm threat exists all day. It will be a muggy day as dew points climb into the low to mid 60s with a southerly breeze.

Showers and thunderstorms are possible Tuesday evening before a cold front moves through. The wind will shift to the northeast late at night, and lows will be near 60. Wednesday looks cloudy early, with some sunshine possible around midday. It will be cooler, with highs in the low 70s, except along the Eastern Massachusetts coast where it may not get out of the 60s.

Thursday will likely start with dry weather. A southeast breeze combined with an approaching warm front and cold front will likely lead to cloudy skies, and eventually damp conditions near the coast. Rain may hold off until Thursday night in most of RI and SE MA, but drizzle and mist, with patchy fog could develop near the coast. Highs will be in the upper 60s to low 70s. The best chance of rain on Thursday appears to be away from the coast.

The end of the workweek and start of the weekend look unsettled. Showers and thunderstorms are possible Friday into Saturday morning as a slow-moving cold front pushes through New England. It will be muggy and mild, with highs in the low to mid 70s. Skies will be mostly cloudy when it is not raining, and the best chance of showers is Friday afternoon and night.

A few lingering pop-up showers may develop on Saturday as the disturbance slowly moves away. For the most part, the weather will be improving. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s on Saturday. Sunday looks terrific, with partly to mostly sunny skies, and highs in the 70s at the coast, and near 80 inland.
