More Clouds Likely on Thursday

The phenomenal weather of the past few days will give way to more clouds late in the workweek and into the weekend. An offshore storm and a disturbance west of Southern New England will combine to bring partly to mostly cloudy skies on Thursday. The morning low temperature will be in the mid to upper 50s, and it will reach the low to mid 70s in the afternoon with a 5-10 mph northeast breeze. Clouds will be thickest in coastal areas, particularly Southeastern Massachusetts, where there may be a few showers from the offshore storm. A few showers are also possible north and west of Providence as a disturbance weakens while moving into Southern New England from the west. The threat of showers continues Thursday night, especially over inland Southern New England.

The weather does not look great on Friday, either. It will not be terrible, but a nearby disturbance may trigger scattered showers – especially inland. Highs will only be in the low to mid 70s again, and it may not make it out of the 60s along the Eastern Massachusetts coast because of an east-northeast wind.

Saturday looks like another day with stubborn clouds and relatively cool conditions. Lows will be near 60, and highs will be in the low 70s in RI, and even cooler in SE MA. A few showers cannot be ruled out. High pressure will move over New England on Sunday, and that means fair weather with more sunshine. Highs will be in the mid 70s on Sunday. Monday and Tuesday will be very nice, with highs in the mid to upper 70s and mostly sunny skies.
