Dry and Seasonable Thursday

A cold front moved through Southern New England with a few showers Wednesday evening. Thursday looks pleasant, but not as warm as the weather for the past couple of days. Highs will be near 60 with a blend of sun and clouds. There will be a light westerly breeze. The temperature will dip into the upper 30s to low 40s under mainly clear skies Thursday night.

Halloween will be dry and cool in Southern New England. It will be partly sunny during the day with highs in the mid 50s. A developing north-northeast breeze will allow the temperature to settle back into the mid to upper 40s by mid-evening. It will be cool, but not terribly cold for trick-or-treaters.

We are still watching the potential for a storm to develop off the East Coast this weekend. It’s a little early to say for certain that it will not have a big impact, but, right now, it looks like the brunt of it will stay offshore. Chilly rain showers are likely on Saturday with temperatures in the mid to upper 40s. The temperature will dip into the 30s to low 40s at night, with a chance of rain or snow showers late at night – especially in Eastern Massachusetts.

If the storm is offshore on Sunday, you can expect partly sunny and windy conditions in Southern New England. Highs will only be in the low to mid 40s. The wind chill will be in the 20s to low 30s with gusts over 30 mph possible. Sunday night looks cold, with lows in the upper 20s to low 30s under clear skies.

It will start cool next week before milder weather arrives by midweek. Monday looks mostly sunny with highs near 50. It will not be nearly as windy as Sunday. Tuesday and Wednesday will likely stay dry with highs reaching the low to mid 60s inland.
