Mild in the Midweek; Rain Likely Thursday

A southerly wind will continue bringing mild weather into Southern New England through most of the workweek. Low and high temperatures will run above normal this week. At night, there will be clouds and patchy fog, which may be locally dense. Lows will be in the 50s Tuesday morning. The fog/clouds should burn off to partly sunny skies. It will reach the low 70s inland, and stay in the 60s near the coast with a southerly breeze and clouds hanging tough.

Clouds and fog will roll back in Tuesday night, and the temperature will fall to near 60 by dawn on Wednesday. Once again, early clouds will burn off to some sunshine, with the warmest conditions away from the coast. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s inland, and 60s near the coast as the southerly breeze continues. Wednesday night looks muggy and very mild for mid-October, with lows in the low to mid 60s amid more fog and low clouds.

Rain will move in from west to east during the day on Thursday. It looks like the best chance of rain is in the afternoon and evening, and it may be heavy at times. Early projections are for many areas to get 0.5-1.0″ of rain, with the potential for more if any thunderstorms develop along the cold front which will move offshore by early Friday morning. Highs will be near 70 on Thursday. There will be a gusty south-southeast breeze.

Friday and Saturday look decent with partly cloudy skies and highs in the low 70s inland, and 60s near the coast. A disturbance will move through on Sunday and could trigger scattered showers, but it does not look like a washout. It will turn cooler late in the weekend and early next week.
