PatsCast: Showers for AFC Championship

Anyone attending the AFC Championship game on Sunday at Gillette Stadium will meet rain at some point on the trip. However, it will likely not be raining the entire day and evening. At this point, it looks like most of the pre-game tailgate will be mainly dry with the steadier rain west of Foxboro.

The exact timing of the steady rain in Foxboro is still questionable, and it may hold off until late in the game and during the post-game tailgate. There is likely to be a 2-4 hour period of steady rain with the potential for some heavier downpours. It’s not out of the question that this coincides with the entire game, but the odds are favoring the steadier rain arriving after 8pm and before 1am.

On the bright side, it will not be particularly cold, with the temperature in the afternoon and evening in the low to mid 40s. The wind does not look like a big factor. It will be around 10 mph from the south.
