Snow Showers Possible Thursday; Bigger Weekend Storm

A weak Alberta Clipper storm system will bring snow showers and flurries to Southeastern New England Wednesday night into Thursday morning. It does not look like there will be more than a coating of snow in Rhode Island and most of Southeastern Massachusetts. The exception is on Cape Cod and the Islands where there is a chance of 1-2″ of snow. Lows will be in the mid to upper 20s Wednesday night.

Thursday looks mostly cloudy with the chance of snow showers and flurries through midday. Highs will be in the mid 30s. The wind will be relatively light (5-10 mph) and shift from the northeast to northwest during the afternoon. It will become mainly clear Thursday night. Lows will be in the teens to low 20s early Friday morning. Look for a lot of sunshine on Friday with highs in the low to mid 30s.

A storm is likely on Saturday. Right now, we are favoring a track that brings a mix of rain and snow from the coast to the I-95 corridor, with a better chance of all snow north and west of I-95. The precipitation could be moderate to heavy Saturday afternoon and evening as the storm intensifies in the Atlantic Ocean. Several inches of snow are possible in the areas that get mainly snow. Sunday looks dry and seasonably cold, with highs in the low to mid 30s. It will be colder on Monday, and a developing storm could bring snow Monday night into Tuesday. Highs will only be in the 20s on Monday with lows in the single digits and teens. Overall, next week is shaping up to be very cold.
