Milder Weather This Weekend

The high temperature was about 20° colder than normal on Friday in spite of abundant sunshine. We will not see wall to wall blue skies this weekend, but it will be milder. Look for clear to partly cloudy skies Friday night. Lows will range from the single digits in the countryside to the low teens near the coast and in the cities.

Saturday will be a dry and cool day in New England
Saturday will be a dry and cool day in Southern New England

Saturday will be partly sunny with a light southwest breeze, and highs in the mid 30s. There is a chance of a few flurries in Northern New England. A weak disturbance will move through Saturday night into Sunday bringing more clouds and scattered flurries. Lows will be in the 20s early Sunday morning, and highs will be in the mid to upper 30s. Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead an hour before going to bed Saturday night. Daylight Saving Time begins at 2 AM Sunday, and the sunset will be at 6:44 PM in Providence on Sunday evening.

Skies will clear Sunday night, and the temperature will fall into the 20s overnight. Monday will be a nice day, with highs in the low 40s and a blend of clouds and sunshine. Odds are the weather will stay dry through the middle of next week, but we need to keep an eye on a disturbance moving out of the Southeastern United States. Right now, it looks like that will stay south of New England, and the weather will be quiet. Highs will be in the 40s through Wednesday. A cold front will bring colder weather back late next workweek.
