Event Forecast: Cox Providence Rhode Races

The annual Cox Providence Rhode Races are Sunday, May 3, 2015 in Providence, RI. The 5K, Half-Marathon, Marathon, and kids fun run begin between 730-820 am. The weather for this year’s races looks great. There may not be full sunshine, and that’s a good thing for runners – especially since most trained in frigid to cool weather from the winter into the spring. The temperature will warm through the 60s by early in the afternoon, but the 730 am marathon start means many runners have finished by 1230 pm. The wind does not look like a factor, it will turn onshore around midday, and that’s a tailwind for runners heading back to Providence in the marathon. It could be a great day to PR!
