A Glance at the Week Ahead

Mother’s Day was warm and toasty away from the coast. The temperature reached the mid 80s inland with a southwest breeze. That same breeze kept it 15-20° cooler near the coast. The southwest wind continues early in the week. There will be some clouds and fog to start the day on Monday. Skies should become partly sunny in the afternoon. The low temperature will be in the upper 50s to low 60s. Highs will be in the 80s inland, and near 70 at the coast. It will feel a bit muggy.

Monday night will be mostly cloudy and damp. A few showers are possible. There may be patchy fog and mist. Lows will be in the upper 50s to low 60s. There is an outside chance of a shower on Tuesday, but it looks dry for most. Highs will be in the 80s again inland. It will stay closer to 70 at the coast because of a southwest breeze. It will stay muggy through the day before turning less humid at night as the wind shifts to the west.

Wednesday looks delightful. You can expect lots of sunshine, and highs in the mid to upper 70s. It will not be humid, and the coast will be warm because of a west-northwest breeze. The weather will turn slightly cooler late in the workweek. Highs on Thursday and Friday will be near 70 with mostly sunny skies. Lows will be in the 40s to low 50s on Thursday and Friday mornings.

Looking ahead to next weekend, a disturbance may bring showers Saturday morning as warmer weather returns to Southern New England. It looks dry Saturday afternoon with highs in the low to mid 70s. Sunday is shaping up to be partly sunny with highs in the 70s.
