Gorgeous Weather Continues Thursday

More warm and dry weather is ahead for Thursday as a northwest breeze continues in Southeastern New England. It will turn a bit cooler as we head into the weekend.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT
It will be mainly clear and comfortably mild Wednesday night. The wind will diminish, and lows will be between 60-64 early Thursday morning.

THURSDAY
The northwest breeze will kick up to 10-20 mph during the day on Thursday. There will be more blue sky blended with fair-weather clouds, and highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. It will not be humid, with dew points in the 50s. Thursday night looks clear and comfortable. Lows will be near 60 on Friday morning.

FRIDAY
Cool air aloft arrives on Friday. Morning sunshine will yield some afternoon clouds as the atmosphere destabilizes. It’s unclear if the air will be cool enough aloft to allow some of those clouds to develop into thunderstorms with the potential for small hail and gusty winds. Right now, we’re favoring a mainly dry afternoon, with the best chance of pop-up showers/storms in Northern RI and interior SE MA. Highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s. There will be a northwest breeze. The weather looks nice Friday night. Any showers will diminish after sunset, and it will be clear and comfortable.

SATURDAY
There is not much difference in the overall weather scheme for Saturday. Look for sun to partly cloudy skies, with possible pop-up showers/storms in the afternoon until sunset. Once again, there’s no guarantee of rain, and outdoor plans should not be altered. It may be a hair cooler than Friday, with highs in the mid 70s to near 80. It will not be humid. The wind will shift to the east-northeast.

SUNDAY
An approaching cold front will bring some afternoon clouds on Sunday. It looks like widespread showers will hold off in RI and SE MA until Sunday night. A few stray showers are possible in the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s.

EARLY NEXT WEEK
A couple of showers are possible on Monday as the boundary between warm/muggy and relatively dry weather lingers over New England. It will be partly cloudy with highs in the low 80s. Warmer, more humid weather is likely in the middle of next. Highs will be well into the 80s. Lows will be near 70.
