Warm and Muggy Monday; Cooler Late-Week

Humidity will increase Sunday night into Monday as the wind shifts to the south-southwest ahead of a cold front that may bring thunderstorms Monday night.

MONDAY
Clouds and fog could be stubborn near the coast in the morning. There may even be some patchy drizzle. It will be sunny or mostly sunny from the start about 10-15 miles north of the South Coast. The afternoon looks hazy, breezy, very warm and humid. Highs will be in the upper 80s to low 90s inland, and in the low to mid 80s near the coast. There will be a 10-25 mph south-southwest breeze.

MONDAY NIGHT
A line of thunderstorms moving through Western New England late in the day may hold together as it moves east overnight. The best chance of thunderstorms in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts is between 11pm-5am. It will be a warm and humid night, with lows in the upper 60s to low 70s.

TUESDAY
Look for more hazy sunshine on Tuesday. Highs will flirt with 90 again inland. It will be in the 80s at the coast with a southwest breeze. Pop-up thunderstorms are possible from late in the morning through the afternoon. It will be another humid day.

WEDNESDAY
It will turn a bit cooler and less humid on Wednesday. Morning sunshine will yield a few afternoon clouds. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s with a west-southwest breeze. It looks mainly clear with lows in the 60s Wednesday night.

LATE-WORKWEEK
There will be a close call with a storm system Thursday into Friday. The best chance of rain is near the coast late Thursday into early Friday. Thursday will feature increasing clouds with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. Friday may start with rain, but dry weather should arrive during the day. Highs will be in the upper 70s. The early outlook for next weekend is for mainly dry and pleasant weather, with highs near 80.
