Mainly Dry Weekend, Cooler Sunday

The stretch of warm and mainly dry weather in Southeastern New England continues into this weekend. A cold front may scare up a stray shower on Sunday, but for most it will be a dry day. It will turn a bit cooler early next week.

SATURDAY
Look for a mild and mostly cloudy start to the day. There will be some patchy fog. Lows will be in the low 60s. Skies will become partly sunny during the day, and highs will be in the low 80s inland. It will be in the 70s near the coast with a southerly breeze. Saturday night will feature mostly cloudy skies with patchy fog. Lows will be in the 60s again.

SUNDAY
An approaching cold front will bring a weakening line of showers through New England. It is uncertain if the rain will hold together as it reaches Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts. I would not bank on any appreciable wet weather. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy. Highs will be in the mid 70s before turning cooler in the evening as skies clear and the wind shifts to the north then northeast. Lows will be in the low to mid 50s Monday morning.

MONDAY
Stormy weather off the Eastern Seaboard looks like it will mostly stay away from Southeastern New England through most of next week. Monday will be partly cloudy with a northeast breeze, and highs in the low 70s. Clouds will increase Monday night. Lows will be in the 50s.

TUESDAY
It seems the best chance of a glancing blow from the storm is on Tuesday. There may be a few showers, with mostly cloudy skies. A northeast breeze will keep the temperature in the upper 60s to low 70s. It does not look like a washout.

WEDNESDAY-THURSDAY
High pressure regains control of the weather scene in Southeastern New England. Look for mainly clear skies. Highs will be in the 70s with lows in the upper 40s to mid 50s. It will be a pleasant first two days of fall.
