Warm, Humid Thursday; Cooler Friday

Summer keeps hanging on in Southeastern New England. Most of the next week looks much warmer than normal, with a brief respite from the heat late in the workweek.

THURSDAY
After a muggy and mild start to the day, it will become mostly sunny with highs in the mid to upper 80s inland, and low 80s near the coast. It will stay muggy through the day. There will be more clouds during the afternoon. There is a slight chance of a late-day shower or thunderstorm. The odds of a shower or storm increase during the evening, but we are expecting the action to be scattered and not widespread. The wind will shift to the northeast late at night, bringing in less humid weather for Friday. Lows will be in the 60s.

FRIDAY
There will be clouds around Friday morning, but skies will become partly sunny by midday. It will be cooler and much less humid. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s with a 5-15 mph northeast breeze. Friday night looks clear and comfy. Lows will be in the mid to upper 50s.

SATURDAY
It will be clear and comfy early in the day. Mostly sunny skies will be continue through the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s without much humidity. Saturday night looks clear and pleasant. Lows will be in the mid 50s to near 60 on Sunday morning.

SUNDAY
Terrific weather continues on Sunday. The temperature will soar after a seasonably cool start the day. Highs near the coast will be in the low 80s, and it will reach the mid 80s inland. There will be plenty of sunshine. It may get a bit muggier by late in the day, especially near the coast.

LABOR DAY
Monday will be a gorgeous and warm day – a perfect way to unofficially end summer. Lows will be in the 60s, and highs will approach 90 inland in the afternoon. The coast will be 5-10° cooler with an onshore breeze.

MIDWEEK
The very warm weather is sticking around through the middle of next week. Look for highs in the upper 80s to low 90s inland, and 80s near the coast. Lows will be in the mid to upper 60s. It will be mainly clear to partly cloudy Tuesday through Thursday.
