Long-Range Forecast – December 3

The first week of December will likely be at least 5° warmer than normal in Southeastern New England. After a rainy start, we are in a dry stretch that will last through the weekend. It looks like wall-to-wall sunshine Saturday, and possibly on Sunday, too. Highs may reach 50° both days.

The weather will stay dry and mild early next week. A storm developing near the East Coast in the midweek could make a run at Southern New England. We are leaning toward the storm staying harmlessly out to sea. It bears watching over the next few days. If the storm comes far enough north, a gusty northeast wind and rain are possible.

The overall pattern looks stormier in mid-December, with the storm track favoring rain. There will likely not be any very cold weather through the middle of the month. That doesn’t seem to bode well for a white Christmas, but things can change pretty quickly in late December.
