Midweek Rain; Colder Late in the Week

March begins with relatively mild for a couple of days before a winter-like chill returns late in the workweek. There are a couple of slight chances for snow late in the workweek and this weekend.

TUESDAY
Meteorological spring begins with a pleasant day. It will not be nearly as warm as Monday. Highs will be in the low to mid 40s with mostly sunny skies and a light breeze. Clouds thicken Tuesday night, and rain is likely after midnight. The temperature will fall into the 30s Tuesday evening before climbing after midnight.

WEDNESDAY
Rain is likely Wednesday morning as a cold front passes. It will not be a total washout, however, as the line of showers will move offshore by midday, and drier weather rushes in on a northwest breeze. The day will begin with mild weather, and highs in the low to mid 50s. The temperature will plummet to below freezing by shortly after sunset. 15-30 mph southerly winds are possible during the rain, and 15-35 mph northwest winds will bring in the cold/dry air in the afternoon and evening.

THURSDAY
The day will start with temperatures in the low 20s and wind chills in the teens. It looks dry and chilly in the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid 30s. Clouds will increase Thursday night. A storm system may come close enough for light snow or snow showers late at night into early Friday morning. We’ll keep you posted.

FRIDAY
Snow showers or light snow are possible in the morning. It will be partly cloudy and cool in the afternoon, with highs again in the 30s.

WEEKEND
Saturday looks dry and cool. Highs will be near 40. Snow showers are possible Saturday night into Sunday as a weak system approaches. It does not look like a big deal. Highs will be in the upper 30s on Sunday. Warmer weather returns next week.
