Unsettled and Cool Start to May

May began with a cloudy, cool, and showery day on Sunday. Unfortunately, there is more of the same from time to time during the first week of the month. More showers are likely on Monday and Tuesday. Thursday looks like the nicest day of the workweek, and more showers are likely into the weekend.

MONDAY
Mostly cloudy, scattered showers, not steady rain. Highs in the upper 50s.

TUESDAY
More clouds, chance of showers or light steady rain. It depends on how close a storm comes to Southern New England. Cooler with highs in the low to mid 50s.

WEDNESDAY
Plenty of clouds. May be damp with mist/drizzle. Highs in the low 50s again.

THURSDAY
Partly to mostly cloudy. Highs in the mid to upper 50s – sad to say, but this is probably the best day of the week.

FRIDAY
Clouds thicken, chance of rain in the afternoon/evening. Highs in the upper 50s.

NEXT WEEKEND
A slow-moving storm system will be nearby. Where the storm develops will decide whether there are scattered showers or steady rain, but some rain is possible both Saturday and on Mother’s Day. Highs will be in the 50s.
