October 26th Update

Thursday will begin with temperatures near freezing in RI and SE MA. Clouds will yield rain around midday, and steady rain is possible for the evening commute. Thursday night looks wet and windy before the storm departs early Friday morning.

The weather will be fairly quiet through the weekend into the middle of next week. Overall, it looks a little cooler than normal with an active breeze most days. A slight warm-up is possible in the middle of next week.

Most of Thursday will be dry and cloudy, with the temperature slowly rising from the low to mid 30s at dawn to the upper 40s by sunset. It will get warmer at night, with temps jumping to 55-60° as the storm moves by. Rain begins around midday, and will be heaviest after sunset. Most of the area should see between 0.75-1.5″ of rain.

Strong winds are likely near the coast Thursday night. The breeze will pick up to 15-30 mph by late in the day. You can expect 30-45 mph gusts likely in RI and interior SE MA. There may be 50 mph gusts near Buzzards Bay and on Cape Cod and the islands.
