Event Forecast: Jamestown Half-Marathon

The Jamestown Half Marathon will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018.  The event is set on picturesque Conanicut Island and looks out over Narragansett Bay and the Newport Pell Bridge, the largest suspension bridge in New England.  The course features vivid landscapes, winding roads, historic Watson Farm as well as the village of Jamestown with its small shops and quaint restaurants.  The Tufts Health Plan Half Marathon will start at 7 am.

Forecast

A cold front will be moving through Rhode Island early Saturday morning. It may bring a passing shower before 9 a.m., but it does not look very wet for the race. It will be muggy overnight Friday into early Saturday, with the humidity falling quickly after the front passes and the wind shifts to the northwest. This should happen sometime between 7:30-8:30 a.m. Expect some clouds throughout the morning, and the wind may gust over 20 mph as the front passes. Temperatures will be in the upper 60s to low 70s.
