A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for most of Southeastern New England from late Thursday night through Friday morning in Connecticut and Friday afternoon in Rhode Island and interior Southeastern Massachusetts. In my estimation, there is a low risk of widespread flash flooding, but I can see why the watch is posted given the heavy rain that fell earlier this week and swollen rivers and streams along with a saturated ground.

The weekend still looks dry! Expect highs in the 70s on Saturday, and 60s on Sunday. Another warm-up is ahead for next week. It will be well into the 70s and may even reach the 80s for a day or two between Monday and Thursday. Looking way down the road, cooler weather arrives over the Columbus Day weekend. The way it looks now, the first frost of the season is possible in the higher terrain of Southern New England before October 10. I will keep you posted!
