There are no big changes to the weekend forecast. A cold Thursday night with a low near freezing will give way to a seasonably cool Friday with highs not far from 50. Clouds thicken Friday evening and rain arrives late at night.

Rain will be heavy at times Saturday morning into the early afternoon. The wind will howl, and the strongest 40+ mph gusts are likely near the coast through early Saturday afternoon. It will stay damp late Saturday afternoon into Saturday night, but heavy rain should end by mid-afternoon. The wind will not be as strong by late in the day and at night.

Sunday looks like an ok day, with the mildest weather likely in RI and eastern MA. Expect a mainly or all dry day with an active west-southwest breeze between 15-25 mph. Showers may return on Monday before a dry and chilly Tuesday. The early outlook for Halloween is getting a bit warmer, with temps possibly not too far from 50 when the kids head out trick or treating.
