April 8 – Cool midweek; Showers Friday PM

It’s very “Monday” out there this morning with showers moving through and temps in the 40s to low 50s. Expect it to be less wet this afternoon, but clouds will be stubborn. Highs will be in the 50s. Mist and fog are likely Monday night as the temperature falls into the mid 40s.

Gray skies continue on Tuesday, and it will be cooler with temps in the low to mid 40s. A few passing showers cannot be ruled out in the afternoon. The temperature dips into the 30s Tuesday night, and it stays below normal on Wednesday. Some sun may break through on Wednesday, but the temperature may not get above the mid to upper 40s.

Thursday looks a bit better. A cool start in the 30s will give way to milder sunshine, but still not quite warm for mid-April. Look for highs in the low-mid 50s. Expect sun to clouds on Friday. Highs will be in the 50s. Showers are likely Friday night, but should move out of the picture early Saturday – maybe even before dawn.

Showers approaching from the west Friday evening

We are heading for a second straight great Saturday afternoon with some sun and highs in the 60s to possibly low 70s in some towns. It will be a breezy to windy day with gusts over 25 mph possible. The weather stays dry, but turns cooler on Sunday. Highs will be back in the 50s.

The weather looks pretty miserable for next Monday. Unfortunately, it could be another rough Boston Marathon with rain, wind, and cold temperatures currently in the forecast. It’s still a week away and there may be some changes, but the there’s a strong signal for a storm in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast states. I expect a chilly rain storm in Southern New England next Monday.
