May 4 – Soggy Sunday ahead
The very dreary weather pattern that we’ve been dealing with since the start of April continues on Sunday with a storm system bringing occasional rain through the day. The storm has trended north over the past couple of days, and it’s likely to be a rather wet day – especially in Connecticut. The rain will not be as steady/heavy in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts.

The latest information suggests that the rain total between Sunday morning and night will be around 0.5″ in northern CT and RI, and closer to 1″ along the coast. In a worst-case scenario, some towns could add to the recent hefty rain totals with another 1-2″ between about 4 a.m. Sunday and midnight.
It still looks like the weather will be mainly dry between Monday and Thursday. The best chance of rain is Tuesday afternoon/evening with scattered showers/t-storms as a cold front moves through. Another storm system arrives late Thursday into Friday with more rain likely.
