October 26 – Soggy Sunday, another storm later in the week

Rain arrives from west to east on Sunday. Scattered showers are likely in the morning in Connecticut, and you may catch a brief shower in RI or SE MA. Most of the rain comes in the afternoon, and it will be heavy at times late in the day in Connecticut and into the evening in Rhode Island and SE Massachusetts. The wind will be gusty in the afternoon and evening. Most areas will see 20-35 mph gusts, but the immediate coast, Cape Cod and Islands could see some 40-50 mph gusts.

Heavy downpours move through New England on Sunday afternoon

Approximately 1-2″ of rain is most likely from this system, with the heaviest totals near the CT Shoreline and RI coast. It will be soggy for the game between the Patriots and Browns in Foxboro. Temps will be in the 50s.

Rain will end Sunday evening before some clearing Sunday night. Dry weather is likely on Monday. Tuesday through Thursday will feature near-normal temperatures and a chance of pop-up showers. None of those days will be a washout, and most of the time it will be dry. A total of 0.1-0.25″ rain is most likely over those three days. Trick or treaters may have to deal with a shower around sunset, but there’s a chance it will be dry and not terribly chilly.

EPS shows a fairly high chance of more than 0.5″ rain on Friday

A stronger storm arrives at the end of the week. This one has the potential to bring more than a half-inch of rain on Friday. The good news is it will be a fast-mover and the weather for the first weekend of November looks ok. It will be seasonably cool with temps in the 50s during the day.
