December 8 – Rain Mon/Tue; Snow early Wed

The workweek begins with wet weather on Monday and Tuesday. Rain may be heavy at times Monday afternoon and night. It will be windy, especially at the coast, and the temperature will soar into the 50s.

Tuesday will be wet and mild

The weather stays showery on Tuesday with highs in the 50s to low 60s. The weather changes quickly late Tuesday into early Wednesday. Cold air rushes in Tuesday evening, and there will likely be snow late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Snow develops late Tuesday night and lasts into Wednesday

The Wednesday morning commute will most likely be a snowy one in all of Southern New England. In the end, it will not be a big snow event, but should be enough to cause some issues on the roads. Right now it is most likely to get 1-3″ of snow in CT, RI and SE MA. There is a low risk of 3-6″, and it’s still possible that it will be lighter than projected. The snow threat diminishes by midday Wednesday and it will stay cold through the day on Thursday.

Look for highs in the 30s on Wednesday and only low to mid 30s on Thursday with some sunshine. It will not be quite as bitter on Friday afternoon as it stays dry.

A storm system heading for New England next weekend is more likely to bring rain than snow on Saturday.
