Friday will be cool and quiet with the temperature struggling to reach 50° as clouds increase in the afternoon. Clouds thicken overnight with temps in the mid 30s inland to low 40s at the coast. Rain arrives after midnight in Connecticut and closer to dawn in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts.

The wind increases to 15-35 mph by dawn on Saturday, with the strongest gusts near the coast. Peak wind gusts over 40 mph are possible near the coast, and that will be enough to down plenty of leaves and some branches and power lines. The strongest winds will roar through Saturday morning into the midday. The heaviest rain is also likely Saturday morning.
Rain tapers to showers, drizzle and mist in the afternoon. The wind will gradually diminish during the afternoon into the evening. Expect patchy fog Saturday night.
Sunday looks better than Saturday, with mainly dry conditions and a gusty west-southwest wind. Temperatures will range from the 40s in Connecticut to the 50s in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts. A disturbance moving through Southern New England on Monday brings another round of rain showers with temps in the 50s.
Dry weather is ahead for the middle of the week. Tuesday looks chilly with temps in the 40s. It will get milder Wednesday as temperatures get close to 60 in the afternoon. Expect temperatures in the 50s for trick or treating Wednesday evening. It may get even warmer on Thursday with highs in the 60s.
Another storm with wind/rain is possible late next workweek or next weekend.
