September 14 – Facebook Live

We are on the cusp of a pleasant and dry weekend in Southern New England. It stays dry Monday before what’s left of Florence brings rain (maybe heavy) on Tuesday.

Expect temps to be slightly above normal this weekend with a nice late-summer feel. It will be mid 70s to low 80s both days. There should also be a bit more sunshine than we’ve seen lately. Patchy fog and mist is possible at night. It will still be slightly humid with lows at night in the upper 50s to low 60s.

It stays dry Monday before rain arrives Tuesday with what’s left of Florence. It will most likely be a tropical depression or extratropical storm, with some wind near the coast, but probably not damaging. The bigger threat is for heavy downpours and street flooding. In a worst-case scenario, there could be more than 2″ of rain in some spots in 8-12 hours, and that could lead to some issues. The exact track of the storm is important, and it’s possible that the rain will not be as heavy as some models are projecting.

Dry weather returns Wednesday and lasts through most of the rest of the workweek. It looks like a cold front could bring a few showers late Friday into early next Saturday. I still expect a fall feel around here next weekend!
