Scattered Thunderstorms on Thursday

An approaching cold front will trigger scattered showers and thunderstorms Wednesday night and Thursday in Southern New England. It will be mild and very muggy Wednesday night, with the best chance of rain after midnight. Lows will be in the mid to upper 60s.

Thursday looks mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms. The threat of rain exists all day, but it will not be raining the whole day. However, there is the potential for torrential downpours in any thunderstorms Wednesday night or Thursday. Localized street flooding is possible if a thunderstorms lingers over one area for an hour or more. Highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s.

Drier weather will arrive Thursday night, and skies will gradually clear. Lows will be near 60 on Friday morning as the humidity falls. Friday will be partly to mostly sunny, with highs in the mid to upper 70s.

The weather looks great for the weekend. Highs will be in the low 80s with plenty of sunshine on Saturday. It will not be humid. Sunday will be mostly sunny with highs inland in the low to mid 80s, and in the mid to upper 70s at the coast with a southwest breeze.

Monday and Tuesday will be warm and humid with partly cloudy skies. Highs will be in the mid 80s inland, and upper 70s near the coast. Lows will be in the mid 60s. Patchy fog is possible in the morning near the coast. Showers and thunderstorms could be an issue by the middle of the week.
