Mild southwesterly winds will continue on Wednesday. Patchy fog is possible early in the day before it burns off to partly to mostly cloudy skies. The wind will increase to 10-25 mph during the afternoon. Highs will be in the low 70s inland, and in the low to mid 60s near the coast. Stray showers are possible, especially inland, late in the day.
The chance of scattered showers continues Wednesday night as a cold front moves through New England. Rain will not be widespread in Southeastern New England. Lows will be in the mid to upper 40s early Thursday morning.
Thursday will become partly to mostly sunny. Highs will be in the upper 50s with a westerly breeze. The weather will stay dry for Halloween. A northeast breeze will keep it cool, with highs in the mid 50s. The temperature will fall into the 40s during the evening, but it will not rain on the trick or treaters.
A developing storm will bring rain and much cooler weather this weekend. Saturday looks mostly cloudy with rain arriving by midday and continuing during the afternoon. Highs will only be in the upper 40s, and the temperature will fall through the 40s during the afternoon. Right now, it looks like precipitation will continue Saturday night, and rain may change to snow before ending early Sunday morning. The best chance of a changeover to snow is inland, but we are not expecting any accumulation based on the projected track of the storm. If the storm moves a little more slowly, it’s possible there could be a longer period of snow.
Sunday will be blustery and cold for early November. Lows will be in the low to mid 30s, and highs will only be in the mid 40s with a gusty northerly wind under partly cloudy skies. Wind chills will be near freezing in the afternoon. Sunday night will be clear and cold. Lows will be in the upper 20s to low 30s. Highs on Monday will be near 50, and it will get warmer in the middle of next week.
